Did I mention that we had 3 pastors from our church and multiple friends at the ER with us by the time the ambulance arrived?
Everyone was there to help! It was amazing! Someone would stay the night at our house to watch the babies. Someone would drive the big kids to school the next day. One friend said she would come over the next morning just to do Baby Girl’s hair.
Oh yea! Did I also mention that Baby Girl and Little Man had their first visit in 10 1/2 months with their birth mom the next day? Social workers were called. Everyone and I do mean pretty much everyone we know and love was helping in some way. It was beautiful! A beautiful picture of how the body of Christ comes together in times of trouble.
So, we get in the ambulance and head 3 1/2 hours away to the best hospital in the state! We did our best to comfort Big Sis, but it was a long, loud, and bumpy ride. We got to the hospital around 1:00 a.m.
As the first ER doc comes in and starts examining Big Sis these words come out of her mouth… “Ya know, I have high school soccer try-outs later today.” He laughs and responds, “Honey, I’m sorry, but you’re not going to make those try-outs. We’re admitting you and taking you upstairs, you could be here a few days.”
To be continued…
